Adjust odometer for a light vehicle; move eRUC device to a different vehicle

Updated this week

How do I adjust the odometer for a light vehicle?

You may have an eRUC TMU750 device in a light vehicle (<3.5T GVM). These devices use GPS instead of a speed tap for distance/speed calculations. Over time, the GPS distance can vary from the vehicle odometer. To accommodate for this, you can adjust the distance on the device itself or by contacting Support.

1. On the device, press the middle green button or spanner icon.

2. Go into Tools.

3. Set the odometer.

You cannot enter a reading less than your current reading or enter more than 1,000 km at a time.

Alternatively, contact EROAD Support. When contacting Support, be sure the vehicle is on and the device's screen is awake. Provide Support with the serial number and current odometer reading of the vehicle. Support will update the odometer reading for you.

If the current licence does not cover the new reading, the Auto Purchase service will purchase a new licence on your behalf within six minutes.

How do I move an eRUC device to a different vehicle?

Unfortunately, you cannot re-use an eRUC device installed in a heavy vehicle. NZTA does not allow a hubodometer serial number to be used more than once, so you must acquire a new unit.

1. Advise Support of the serial number of the unit being returned. You will receive an RMA form.

2. Issue a purchase order exactly as you would for a new install but with the hardware price amended to the discounted rate.

3. Once we receive the unit, we will approve shipment of the new order.
