A typical RUC licence begins when the previous licence expires. However, in some cases (particularly when RUC rates increase or decrease) you may need to update your licence even when the current licence has not expired. In this case, the distances overlap, so you need to buy an overlap licence. RUC Management permissions required.

To purchase an overlap licence, use the current hubodometer reading as the start distance, and then purchase enough RUC to take you past the end distance of the current licence. For example, if the current reading is 42,500 km and your current licence starts at 41,000 km and ends at 43,000 km, change the start distance to 42,500 km and purchase 1000 km to take you past 43,000 km. The price incurred for the overlapped distance is credited against the total cost of the licence.

​To purchase a RUC overlap licence:

1. On the 360 main menu, select Vehicles > RUC Manager.

2. On the RUC management screen, select a vehicle, and then select Shopping Cart.

3. Select Add to cart for selected vehicle.

4. Select the licence listed within Shopping Cart, and under Licence Details, select Edit.

5. In the Begin Distance field, use the arrows to change the begin distance to the current odometer reading.

6. In the Units field, use the arrows to change the end distance.

Be sure to buy enough RUC to take you past the end distance of the current licence.

7. Select Save > Obtain Quote.

Within the Quote panel, you see a credit applied to the cost of the new licence based on the overlapped distance. The licence cost is the total cost you pay after the credit is applied.

8. Select Proceed to Checkout.

9. Confirm the licence details are correct, and then enter the invoice recipient and your EROAD 360 password.

10. Select Buy now.
