The following actions apply to dashcams with status Installed. The three-dot menu for an installed dashcam lists the actions you can take:
Reassign: Change dashcam assignment if you mistakenly assign a dashcam to the wrong vehicle.
Uninstall: This is required when you need to physically remove a dashcam from a vehicle for any reason.
Manage: Control dashcam options such as its recording plan and driver logon (Solo only).
Reassign a Dashcam to a New Vehicle
โImportant: Do not use this option when you are moving a dashcam to a new vehicle. Moving a dashcam requires an uninstall.
1. Go to Admin > Clarity Dashcams.
2. Find the dashcam by searching the serial number or filtering the list by Select installation status > Installed.
3. Select the three-dot menu and then Re-assign > Continue.
The Re-assign panel displays.
4. In the Vehicle dropdown, select a vehicle.
You can only reassign dashcams to vehicles with status Pending assignment.
5. In the Product dropdown that displays, select the dashcam product.
6. For Recording plan, select Dual or Front.
7. Under Add-ons, enable Driver log on, as needed. (Solo only.)
8. Select Re-assign.
You can verify your changes on the Dashcams page.
Uninstall and Move a Dashcam
Technicians need to physically remove dashcams from vehicles when retiring vehicles, replacing/fixing damaged dashcams, and moving dashcams to new vehicles.
Important: Administrators perform uninstalls before technicians physically remove dashcams from vehicles. Notify the technician when removal can proceed.
To permanently retire a dashcam and remove it from your dashcam inventory, contact EROAD Support.
To uninstall a dashcam:
1. Go to Admin > Clarity Dashcams.
2. On the Dashcams page, find the vehicle assigned to the dashcam you are removing, and then select the three-dot menu in its row.
3. Select Uninstall and Uninstall again.
The dashcam is no longer associated with the vehicle within 360 and changes to a Pending install status.
After you uninstall the dashcam, a technician removes the dashcam from the vehicle and, in the new vehicle, performs the installation (including the Installation Wizard) as described in the Clarity Dashcam Install Guide. When you see the dashcam status for the new vehicle change to Pending assignment, assign the dashcam to the vehicle as described in Install and Configure Dashcams.
To install the dashcam into the new vehicle, the technician may need an installation kit. Contact EROAD Sales to order a new installation kit.
Change Dashcam Recording Option
1. Go to Admin > Clarity Dashcams.
2. In the row for the vehicle whose video service you want to adjust, select the three-dot menu
3. Select Manage dashcam.
The Manage dashcam window displays.
4. For the recording plan, select Dual or Front if both are available.
5. Select Confirm.
The Manage dashcam window displays the available product and recording plans for the selected vehicle/dashcam. Your company may have purchased both Dual and Front plans for one dashcam product but not for another.
